Bangalore Run Club

Category : Run Club

We painted the town with the colours of sisterhood - on the 15th of October, Cubbon Park witnessed women young and old in their best spirits, rising up to an early morning sun, cheering each other on, to accomplish their running goals.

The Sisters in Sweat Bangalore Run Club has been meeting weekly for over a year now, with sisters coming in from across the city, to Cubbon Park. The historic park, which is one of the garden city’s oldest parks and also a vital green lung of the city, was our venue for this event, the ideal spot for our sisters to get outdoorsy and enjoy the perfect run amidst nature. Coach and pacer Pallavi Sukumar has been training our girls for a little over a year to get their athletics game on, through drills, interval training, short sprints and slow jogging routines. If you are looking to join a run club, look no further and head over to the next session of the SIS Bangalore Run Club. The consistency of these weekly sessions have led the girls to boost their confidence, improve their cardiovascular endurance and bond with their fellow sisters so well, that come race day - everyone was so busy cheering each other on, the vibe became so electric and contagious that we had so many new faces join us, and towards the end, even a group of senior ladies enthusiastically participated in the cool down!

They were the best cheerleaders, truly sisters in sweat - a tribe of over 50 women, from all walks of life, came in with their colleagues, friends, sisters, partners, and cheered each other on to accomplish a goal in a sport they love! The story has been featured in the special edition of The Times Of India for our sheer grit and spirit of sisterhood! Do read on for a fabulous rendition by Pearl Maria D'Souza of the morning's shenanigans.

The lead up to the event was such a party too. The team was busy setting up collabs with brands, getting a fresh batch of SIS jerseys for participants and coordinating with pacers, interns and volunteers for the run route. We had Atmosphere Studio, one of our favourite kombucha brands as our refreshment partner, and all members were gifted their jerseys and refreshments at the end of the run with a pat on the back by our founder Tanvie Hans, international football player and team captain of Misaka CF
